[This is the place to get training to pass the Wisconsin Master or Journeyman electrical license exam the first time. Most of the changes in the NEC, every three years, deal with installations and definitions--not calculations.

Hence 'The Master's NEC Calculation Classroom' was born. Not knowing how to do the calculations is why most electricians fail the exam.]

Wisconsin Master's NEC Classroom is not a book. It is a series of webpages full of calculations and general information you need to know in order to pass the exam.

You don't have to sit and memorize the entire code. I teach you ONLY WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO PASS.

Also you can e-mail me (every day if you like) if you have any questions I can help you with.(You can't do that with a Tape, CD, or Book)

The Wisconsin State Legislature has passed a mandatory licensing bill for Electricians, Apprentices, and Helpers last session.

What this means is that everyone who has a state certification now will be issued a State License when it comes time to renew (with the exception of Restricted Contractor of course--that will not be available any more).

Those who do not have a certification now will have to take the state exam and score 70 or more to receive a license. You need 35 out of 50 questions to pass. My classroom will insure you answer those 35 questions right.

There will be NO Grandfathering whatsoever.

There will be Beginner, Apprentice, Residential Apprentice, Residential Journeymen, Master, Journeyman, Electrical Contractor licenses.

The 'Restricted Contractor' classification is going away. You will have to be a Master or hire a Master to be an Electrical Contractor, so it makes more sense to take the exam yourself.

The rules were adopted July 1, 2009

You have until April 1, 2013 to get licensed--BUT--as Joe Hertel pointed out at the Annual WETC Trade Show in EauClaire, Feb. 13th,2009 the department can't handle 5000 applications at once because they don't have the recsources. So DON'T WAIT until the last week or month to get your license. DO IT NOW

If you want to continue working as an electrician in the State of Wisconsin you will have to have a license or look for another line of work as of April 1, 2013.

By the way Joe also said he would be re-writing the test to reflect the 2008 code, so my advice to you is to scroll down this page and sign up for license training now.

Wisconsin Master provides preparation training for the Wisconsin Master or Journeyman Electrician License Exam. However, the instructions will help you pass other states' exams outside Wisconsin also. (Wisconsin doesn't offer reciprocity in any other state, athough when we fully become a licensed state Joe is pushing for reciprocity with about fourteen other states who already have it.)

Don't wait til the last year, last month, or last day to get your license! Do that and you'll be out looking for a new line of work.
